did some toursting

Today we took a drive to the Delaware & Hudson Canal. First the went to the Museum to learn about the history of the canal. Got a personal guided tour of the place and learned some cool things. The canal is 108 miles long and had 108 locks. It was finished in 1828 to bring coal from Pennsylvania to New York. It was done by hand and with black powder. It only took 3 years to build with some 10,000 workers. Not much of the canal is still there but you can walk some of it and see where some of the locks were.

Next we drove to High Falls. It is a water fall that use to be called Great Falls. The area was first settled in 1670 but not built on in 1776 and a mill was put in around that time.
