Moving on

We have moved again. We are now at Lake Minden RV Park another member park in Nicolaus Ca. just north of Sacramento. It is a nice park but not much for sewer hookups. It dose have a nice small lake that will be nice to kayak around and maybe be even fish some. Not much in the area to see and do but there are some things. We will post pictures as we get them. There are some real nice people here and have already met some of them. This park is close to my brother Craig's place so we will be driving over there and meeting up with the whole family.

Still here

We have been mostly relaxing as this park is so quite and peaceful. The weather has been real nice the last few days. Upper 70's to low 80's. Took the kayak out twice on San Joaquin river that runs along the park. It was fun but not lots to see except some birds and turtles.

We have met some nice people here and have had a good time with them. We will be leaving here on Tuesday and heading north a bit farther about 90 miles and will be close to my brother Craig. We will run over there and see Brandon's  (my nephew) new baby again. From the pictures we have seen he is getting real big.  Ok well all for now.

Wow talk about being LAZY

We moved again last Tuesday to a park about 145 miles north. It is Turtle Beach RV park in Manteca Ca. It is a real nice small park and we like it lots and so dose Bristol as it is also quiet. We haven't done much but we did go into town and did some shopping. We also drove to Oakdale about 30 miles away to go to a Cowboy Museum but it was closed for a special event. But we get to the Oakdale Cheese Factory. It makes Gouda Cheese and it is very good. They were not making cheese but you could see all the equipment they use. We did buy some cheese to bring home.

We also went to Knights Ferry. It started out as a ferry to cross over the river for the people going to and from the gold fields. They then built a covered bridge over the river. It is 330 feet long and is the longest in the state.

Yesterday we took a bike ride with tow couples we have met here in the park. We headed up through gold country. We went to Sonora then through Angels Camp then to Jamestown for lunch. We had lunch at the Willow Hotel. It has been in continuous use since 1862. Also go to tour the National Hotel that was built in 1859 and has been restored to the 1800's style.

Then it was off to Murphy another gold town for Ice cream. Then back home. It was a great ride and about 150 miles in all.
Today we drove to Placerville to our friends Lee and Elaine. They live there and we had met them several times on the road and have become good friends. It was a great visit and fun to catch on all our adventures since the last time we had been together. We will meet up with the again on the 6th of May for a day or two. I will post the rest of the pictures of around the area later in a link so you can see all of them.

We have been out sightseeing some what. The weather has been real good and sunny. We first went to San Juan Bautista and went through the Old Mission and the State Historic Park. They were great to go through and see all the history of the area.

After all that we went to Pinnacles National Park. It is the newest National Park in the system. It is a cool place with lots of great rock formations. I walked up the Condor Gulch Trail in hope of seeing a Calif. Condor But didn't see one. But did see lots of rocks.

Today I went back and went to the Bear Gulch Cave. It is cave made of fallen rocks and they are big ones. It was way cool to check it out. They said there were some bats that make there home there but I didn't see any just cool rocks.

We will be leaving the area an Tuesday and heading farther up north. I have put a link at the top of this post that will take you to all the pictures of the area. Hope you will enjoy them.
