We moved again last Tuesday to a park about 145 miles north. It is Turtle Beach RV park in Manteca Ca. It is a real nice small park and we like it lots and so dose Bristol as it is also quiet. We haven't done much but we did go into town and did some shopping. We also drove to Oakdale about 30 miles away to go to a Cowboy Museum but it was closed for a special event. But we get to the Oakdale Cheese Factory. It makes Gouda Cheese and it is very good. They were not making cheese but you could see all the equipment they use. We did buy some cheese to bring home.
We also went to Knights Ferry. It started out as a ferry to cross over the river for the people going to and from the gold fields. They then built a covered bridge over the river. It is 330 feet long and is the longest in the state.
Yesterday we took a bike ride with tow couples we have met here in the park. We headed up through gold country. We went to Sonora then through Angels Camp then to Jamestown for lunch. We had lunch at the Willow Hotel. It has been in continuous use since 1862. Also go to tour the National Hotel that was built in 1859 and has been restored to the 1800's style.
Then it was off to Murphy another gold town for Ice cream. Then back home. It was a great ride and about 150 miles in all.
Today we drove to Placerville to our friends Lee and Elaine. They live there and we had met them several times on the road and have become good friends. It was a great visit and fun to catch on all our adventures since the last time we had been together. We will meet up with the again on the 6th of May for a day or two. I will post the rest of the pictures of around the area later in a link so you can see all of them.
