We moved again

Well we left Robertsdale AL and headed to Fountain FL on Tuesday. We got all set up in a park called Pine Lake in ok weather. We have been here 2 years ago and liked it just fine. After we got set up we took a drive to Panama City to get a Papa Murphy Pizza but stopped off at St. Andrews State Park to get an annual park pass. It may be $90.00 for the year but is well worth the money. We love the parks here in Florida. This park is on the gulf right on the beach. And have some of the whitest sand around.

Yesterday we went to a park called Falling Waters State Park. They have the highest water fall in the state of Florida. It is only 73 feet high but you have to remember it is Florida.

Today we went to Florida Caverns State Park. This is the only state park with a tour of cavern. It was a great tour and I got to see lots of cavern things. I even saw a shark tooth stuck in the roof of the cavern that was millions of years old. Also saw several Bats hanging around.

.
We will be here for a week so we should find other things to see. The weather has been wet since last night but should dry out for the rest of the week.

Been busy

Well we have had a real nice time here in Alabama. The other day we went to Pensacola. Went to the National Navy Air Museum. Wow that was a great day. I think it is one of the best air museums I have been to. They had a ton of plains, all kinds that the navy used. Even had a place there to have lunch and they even had beer. Sure was fun. We also went the an old fort that was started by  the Spanish. There is also a light house that is the tallest on the gulf. When the say tall they mean it. It has 177 steps to the top and it is along way up there.
We also went to Lambert's for lunch. It is famous for throwing rolls to you when you need one and serving a large mean. It was so large that I even had to bring some home.
We will be leaving here tomorrow morning and heading to Florida. We will be spending a week in Pine Lake RV park. We have been there before and liked it.

We have moved

We left Pass Christian MS and drove to Robertsdale AL. on Tuesday. We got all set up at Riverside RV Park. It is a nice park right on the Styx River. After we got set up we drove to Foley to get a Papa Murphy Pizza but first we stopped at Gulf Shore Beach. Wow that some white sand for sure.

Today we took the bike for a ride to Dauphin Island. We had to take the Mobile Bay Ferry. That was fun and as the weather was nice it was even better. We even saw some Dauphins on the trip.

On Dauphin Island there is Fort Gaines that was involved in the Civil War and we went through it too. That was very interesting as it was involved in the battle of  Mobile Bay. We also went to Fort Morgan that is on the other side of the bay. Both are great to see and tour.

I am adding a link to the top of the page of all the pictures I too. Hope you like them.

Took a drive today to New Orleans

CLICK HERE TO SEE PICTURES OF NEW ORLEANS

Decided today to go to New Orleans as the weather is going to turn back the next few day. It was a nice drive and only about 60 miles away. Sun was out but it was humid and real warm. Drove down Bourbon St and  then to the river front. I went out walking and got to see a nice old river boat and had a good view of the Mississippi River. It sure is a big river. Then I went to St. Louis Cathedral that is the oldest Catholic Church in the US. It was first built in 1718 and rebuilt in 1727 and burnt down in 1788 and rebuilt again in 1794. Also walked in the Plaza Armas built in 1762. Lots of very old thing to see but didn't get a chance to go to the museum as it was closed. You can see the pictures by clicking the link at he top. Not sure we will be doing much more here as the weather will be bad the rest of the week. But you never know. We will be leaving here on Tuesday morning and heading east about 125 miles.

Touristing

Today we took a drive to Biloxi MS. and stopped at the Gold Nugget Casino where we both came away with some extra money and a great buffet. That was a good time for me. Then it was off to go through Jefferson Davis Home. There is a museum and his house and lots to see. We took the tour through his house and it was to say the least amazing. The museum had things from his time as the president and commander of the Confederate army. They had lots of pictures of what was left after hurricane Katrina. It sure did lots of damage to everything in the area. Most of his house was destroyed and so was the museum.

I will add a link at the top with the rest of the pictures. As this is a great place to visit.
