We have made it to Calif.

Have not written much lately so will catch up. We left Coolage AZ and went to Yuma AZ. We stayed at Piolet Knob which is just over the border in Calif. Gloria' brother Bill and his wide Barb came over and took us to Algodons Mexico. They had not been there before. We checked out all the stuff they want to sell you and picked up some small things for a good price. We left there yesterday and went to Jamul Calif. and set up at Pio Pico Thousand trails park. We had to stay on the south side as there was no room on the north side till today. We moved to the norht side today and got all set up for the next three weeks. While setting up we ran into our friends Lon and Betty who we had met here last year. They were on the way out and heading north to there next stop. We at least got to chat and see there new New Motor Home. It was real nice and we will meet up with them again down the road in Palm Springs. So now you know where we are now and will be for some time. We plan to go to San Diego and see what we didnt last year. So will keep you informed.

Still on the Move

Ok we made it out of Fort Stockton and made it to Benson AZ. and set up camp at Valley Vista RV Park. We stayed here under my RPI membership an it was only 10.00 a night. It is a nice park not too full. They have 176 sites, back in and pull through and also 30 or 50 amp. Cable and full hookups. They have a small Rec. Room with pool table and games. Also a nice pool and hot tub. We got the rig washed today as it was real dirty. It was quite a job and me and Gloria are tired now.  Yesterday Gloria's brother Bill and his wife Barb came down from Casa Grande and took us to Tumbstone. We toured the town and watched a good shoot out.  Took some pictures and even went to Boot Hill. It was nice to stand in the same places that all the famous people did and or died at. It is always nice to be where history was made. We will be leaving here tomorrow for Coolidge AZ where Gloria's place is. So we can check up on it. We will also hook up with her brother again. They are staying in AZ for the winter.

On The Road Again

Left Harlingen TX the 2nd and stayed at Brush Country RV Park in Carrizo Springs. OK park but didn't have much but the price was right at 25.00. Left there and headed for Parkview in Fort Stockton. we have stayed here before and it is only 10.00 a night with Passport america. Stopped at Langtree where Judge Roy Bean had his Court House. It is still there sitting on the same spot it has since it was built. It was cool getting to go through it and look at the Opera House too. Even though it was never a Opera House but it was where he lived. Woke up this morning to about 8 inches of SNOW. We are going to stay here one more day and let the snow melt off some. Then head for Arizona.

The last of our stay at Harlingen

We are doing well and having a good time. We had Christmas dinner here at the park. They served Ham and potatoes. Everyone brought a dish so we had tons of food to eat. It was a great time for over 250 people. The other day we went to Port Isabel on the way to South Padre Island. We stopped at the old Light House and I climbed the stairs to the top. Sure have a great view of the area. Gloria stayed at the bottom as the stairs are real steep. We also went to the Maritime Museum and looked at all the history of the area. Then we went out on South Padre Island and drove north along the island. Not much there to see and lots of hotels. Not sure why anyone would want to stay there as the wind sure gets with it there. We went out on the beach as we wanted to say we were there. Took some pictures and left. Then we headed back south to Breakaway Tours as we had tickets for there Dolphin Watch tour. Gloria had won a ticket at a give away drawing. The boat was a good size one so the choppy water was no big deal. We got to see some Dolphins and Pelicans in the bay and even got to go out into the Gulf and play in the high waves. They did not stay there long as the waves were very high. I even spotted a Sea Turtle swimming in the bay. We will be spending New Year day here and may do the celebration at the club house. Then we leave here on the 2nd head to Arizona and then on to Calif. Will post more as we go. I have posted more pictures so if you want to see them click the link.

More from Harlingen TX

We have been enjoying our stay here in Harlingen so far except for the wind. It seems to blow every day and some days it really gets with it. We went to Brownsville TX the other day. First we went to the Palo Alto Battlefield. That was cool to learn some history that we missed in school. Then we went to the Zoo in Brownsville. At first sight we thought it was a small one but we were wrong. They have lots of things to see and some great animals. Took the bike out for a short ride today to go to the Iwo Jima Momunment. Will have to tell you more about it later as it was closed. Most of the time we just stay in the trailer out of the wind. But it is warm here most of the time. Posted some pictures we have taken so far so you can follow the link below to see them. We are ready for Christmas and hope all of you are too and have the best Christmas ever.

Here in Harlingen TX

Well we have not done much here yet. It has been warm and even hot but the wind has been bad. Today it was real bad so we stayed in most all day. We did manage to get to the store for some things. One of our neighbors that we had met in Rock Port, Dick and Donna came over and asked if we would want to do dinner on the South Padre Island at Dirty Al's. We said yes and road with them. The food was great. I had Shrimp and Gloria had fish. Hope the wind lets up tomorrow as I want to go to Brownsville and see what all is there.
