Not sure if this is a promotion or demotion, but guess it is time to get my feet wet with the blog. Thank you Len. We have managed to find some new place to visit that we didn't enjoy on previous visits to Newport. The other day we toured the Pacific Maritime Heritage Center. 333 SE Bay Blvd. The building itself has a history for this area, but it now has exhibits dedicated to telling the stories of those who share a desire to live and work where sea meets land. They continue to add displays so we will return when we visit the area next time.
Visited the Devil's Punchbowl on the coast, wish we would of hit it at high tide but the tide was just coming in. While there we had lunch at Mo's, disappointed in the clam chowder as it was mostly potatoes and very few clams.
Another chowder tasting at the Newport Inn for lunch the other day, chowder was good and Len seemed to enjoy his hamburger. Len does manage to get walks in along the beach and has found some great fossils in his journeys.
Our time is almost up here at Whaler's Rest, have enjoyed our 3 weeks here. Went to the clubhouse last night to watch the magic show, started off slow but got better. Had breakfast this morning and have taken advantage of the bar-b-q lunches they have served on the weekends. Nothing better than a bar-b-q burger. My cousin Sheri and her husband John are stopping by tomorrow, will be good to see them, it has been too many years. Leaving Wednesday and head to Pacific City for another 3 week stop, at least there I know where to get a great fish dinner.

Having a great time here
Got to spend lots of time with Glorias son Jack and that was fun. Went out to eat several time and even picked up some Clams to cook on the grill. Ok now I know I dont care for them cooked that way and think Gloria felt the same. Weather has been a bit cool Ok cold for Gloria. But the sun has been out most days for a short time. I have walked on the beach by the park several times and sue enjoy that. Today I took a Charter Boat out for Sea Bass and Ling Cod. I got my limit on the bass but only one Cod and one Crab. So they will make a great dinner tonight. And Bristol had his 8th birthday. Also went to the Oregon State University Marine Center. That is a place you can learn so good stuff.

We move on
We left Bend OR. on Wednesday and moved to South Beach OR outside Newport and got all set up in Whalers Rest TT Park. We will be here for three weeks. Glorias son Jack came out on Friday to check on his house and get some work done on it. We have been spending some time at the house cleaning and cutting down a old dead tree. Got more to do in the next few day then Jack has to head back to Denver.
I have been out walking and have been on the beach. Weather has been a bit cool and cloudy at times. But nice enough for me to walk but Gloria feels it is too cold for her. Guess it is the time of year but will warm up later.
Will write more later.

Having a good time
For the first week it is a bit cold and wet and just a touch of snow but not enough to see. We stayed home most of the time. But now the weather has changed and is in the 70's and dry. I took the bike out for a ride and got to enjoy some of the area around the park. It sure was fun.
Think tomorrow I will take the Kayak out on the river and do some floating around. Should be about a 9 mile run.
Our friends Carolyn and Andy came to the park on Thursday and we have had some good chats and got all caught up on things.
The Deer are moving through right now and heading for higher ground for the summer. It is nice to see them and most are still in there winter coats.
More later.

Good Morning
Well I have been real lax in keeping up with our Blog. Guess I am loosing interest and not sure if anyone even looks at it. For you that do I am sorry. Since the last post we spent two weeks in Nicoluas CA at Lake Minden TT RV Park. We didnt do all that much there except go see my nephew and his wife and there brand new baby girl Violet and there two year old Zay. Also my brother Craig. We had a great time catching up on things and playing with the kids.
We had been in the area before and seen what there was to see so didnt do much touristing. We left there and headed to Bend OR. and got set up in Bend/Sunriver TT RV Park. We will be here for two weeks. Again we have been here before like so many parks we stay at. The weather has been wet and cold so far and even had some snow flurries. Nothing going on in the park as it is the off season. Hoping to meet up with some frineds here but we will see. The weather should clear in a day or so and should be able to find some things to do likd Kayak down the Deschtes River again.
