Time to move again

FINALLY I GOT MY PICTURES UPLODED. CLICK HERE TO SEE THEM

Tomorrow we move again to Clermont FL and the TT Orlando park. Got all packed up today and will head out around 9AM. Sure like the park we have been in for the last 2 weeks. Have had a great time here and like the park layout. Weather has been real nice with a touch of rain yesterday. It is about a 70 mile drive up to Clermont. So we should be there early and set up and having a beer by noon. Will try to get my pictures uploaded from the places we have seen the last 2 weeks soon. So keep an eye on this post for the link when I get it done.
Almost forgot, while I was walking by the river the other day I saw a big alligator just laying on the bank posing for a picture so I took some. He sure was a big one.

Bike trip

Yesterday we took the bike and checked out two State Parks. First we went to Paynes Creek Historic State Park. This is where the Seminole Indians destroyed a trading post and then a fort was built called Fort Chokonikla. The fort was never attacked. There was not much else here but some trails and things so we moved on to Highlands Hammock State Park. This was a nicer park with more things to see. This park is dedicated to the CCC troops that helped build the state park system during WW II.  There were some boardwalk trails that go over swamps. These were real nice and you get to see what it is like in the swamps without getting your feet wet. Got to see one alligator but not much more wildlife. It sure was beautiful out there. All in all it was a great day. I think Florida has some of the best parks any where.

Tourist Times

On Tuesday we took the King Fisher Fleet Cruise from Punta Gorta FL. to Cayo Costa Island. You go about 25 miles across Charlotte Harbor ( I would call it a bay ) almost to the Gulf of Mexico. Took 2.5 hours to get there and the same going back. We got to see dolphins, stingrays and birds. The island is undeveloped barrier island and there are no stores or houses on it and is a state park. We got to stay on the island for 3 hours and just enjoy the weather that by the way was great. Looked for shells but didn't find much. did see some sharks and more stingrays and even a puffer fish that someone caught. I walked across the island as it is only one mile and that was nice.

Having more fun

Well since we have been here we have done some fun things and then just relaxed. We are getting real good at relaxing....... We did a Pot Luck the other day and got to see an entertainer named Bobby Mac who use to be at the Tropicana in Vegas for 12 years. He was good and we all had a good time. On Saturday the park had an appreciation day for there members. They had giveaways ( we didn't win) Food and Beer and games. It was lots of fun. Yesterday we went with friends Bryan and Phyllis to the west coast to Venice area and the beach. Real nice beach and we looked for shark teeth (didn't find any) and did some metal detecting. I even got a little sun burn but had a great time. We then went to a State park and drove around and even saw a alligator. Seems all the State Parks here in Florida are real nice and they have a ton of them.

Made it to Wauchula

We got to Peace River RV park Monday morning. Had to set up in the not full hookup site till a full hookup came available the next day. We got all set up right across the road from Bryan and Phyllis people we have met  several places along the way. Had a nice happy hour that afternoon. It rained a bunch last night and was a bit cool today. Tom came by and asked if we would like to go to dinner with him and his wife Lori. We met in Orlando awhile back. We said yes and went to an Italian place called Giovanni's in Wauchula. It was a good meal and we had a fun time.

Getting ready to move again

Well today we took a trip to LaBelle FL to meet our friends Lloyd and Dianna. We met them at the VFW and had a good hamburger and Fries. Yes we did have a beer or two. Then we went to there house in Lehigh Acres and just sat and chatted. They have a real nice house and seem to be real happy there. It was great seeing them again.
Tomorrow we will start packing up to head north Monday to Wachula FL and back to Peace River RV Park. We sure liked it there and will spend two more weeks with them.

Enjoying Moore Haven FL

We have been having a nice time here even with the rain. Seems to rain a bit every day or night. The other day we went to the casino in Brighton on our way to Okeechobee City. Didn't win any just left them a small contribution. Okeechobee isn't much but has a Walmart.
Last night we had a Pizza at the Club house here in the park and then Played Bingo with Greg and Diana a couple we met there.. It was fun and even better I won one time for $20.00.
Today we took a drive to this side of FT Myers to see the Manatee at Manatee Park. It is about 45 miles east and an easy ride. When we got there we didn't see any but after awhile we saw 5 of them. Also a snake and some fish. It was great to see them as we have been wanting to for some time.

Moore Haven FL

Made it to Moore Haven FL and got all set up at MRV Park with out a hitch on Monday. This is a Passport America park and as such it is about $20.00 a night. Good price as this park is nice. 50 AMP level full hookup sites with ok room around your site. They do have activities and game tables and courts with a nice pool, 4 Hole golf Course and Skeet Range. Well worth the money. Only draw back it there is no trees to speak of so no shade and it is at least 20 miles from any large stores. Verizon is a bit week but you do have 4G.

CLICK HERE TO SEE PICTURES OF OUR TIME IN THE FLORIDA KEYS

Well  our stay here in the Keys is almost over. We leave tomorrow and head back north. We will be going to a rv park called  MRV Park it is by Lake Okeechobee in Moore Haven FL. We have enjoyed our stay here in Big Pine Key. Weather was good most of the time with temps in the 70 and 80's. The beaches are great but not much for shells. The park was nice and right on the water. So we will keep you up to date as we go north.
