We are having fun just relaxing and looking at new thing. I have taken several walks on the beach and yesterday I went to the south end for Long Beach. They claim this is the longest beach in the country. On my walk I found a Door from a boat and think it may be from the Japan Tsunami. I kept the Door lock set. I will post some pictures later as my internet connection here is bad. We also went to Cape Disappointment State Park and trued the Light Houses and did the Lewis and Clark thing.  Hope all you at home are doing good and I will keep in touch.

On to a new State

Well this morning we left Seaside OR. and drove the long distance of 32 miles to Seaview WA. We are staying at Long Beach TT Park. The weather is about the same here. Mostly cloudy with some wind but no rain. This is a small park and you are close to your neighbor. But it is well kept and I am sure we will have a good time here. We will be here for a week the head north towards the Olympic Peninsula .  Will post more as we get to see the sites.

Having more Fun

Yesterday we took another trip to Astoria to see what we have missed. We first stopped at Fort Clatsop. That was the site where Lewis and Clark spent the winter in 1805. It was cool to stand in a spot that was the first american settlement in the west. Next we went to the Astoria Column. It on a hill above the town and over looks the Columbia River. It was built in 1929 as a tribute to the Explorers that settled Astoria. There is 165 stairs to the top which I climbed. No I didnt go strait up as I had to stop once to rest. It is a long way up there. But once on top it gives a great view of the area around it.  I have added some pictures to the ones I put up in the last post so be sure to check them out.

Having Fun

CLICK HERE TO SEE PICTURES WE HAVE TAKEN HERE

We have been running around having fun being a Tourist. First we went to downtown Seaside and walked the shops and went to the end of the Lewis and Clark Trail. We also went to the Seaside Aquarium and checked out all the fish of the area and fed the Seals. Next we went to tour one of the Forts in the area. That was Fort Stevens right on the cost. It was built in 1862 and was a fort till the end of WW2. It was built to guard the mouth of the Columbia River. It is also the only fort to be fired upon since the Civil War. A Jap sub fired on it in 1942. Next we went to Astoria and went to the Columbia Maritime Museum. This is one of the must see things in the area. Has tons of history of the area and is real cool. We also rode the Trolley that run along the shore line of Astoria. We have more to see and will post about it as we do it.

WE have been having a great time as the weather has been good and we could go explore. We have gone to the Tillamook Cheese Factory to do the tour again and do the sample line and have some of there Ice Cream. I had a Hot Fudge Sunday and Gloria had a Cone. They were great as always. We also went to the Smoke house and got some Beef Sticks as I really liked them the last time we were here. Also got a water pump for the RV as mine had gone bad. Not too hard to replace. We also went to the Pioneer Museum in Tillamook. It had lots of things from the past of Tillamook and is a must see if you are ever in the area.
